I'm Back

For what it's worth I back from my absence on the blog.

Lots has happened.

So I have a few things to add to the blog.

Here is a very brief and highlighted list:

• Kyla started walking
• Kyla turned 1
• I got glasses
• Colin turned 3
• We sold our house 
• Life is happening...enough said

Check back often to see/read in detail about the aforementioned and many other things. I'll try my best to get this blog updated sooner than later.

Wreck-it Ralph

This past Saturday we (as in me and Makenna and Colin... Jared got to stay home with Kyla) went to watch Wreck-it Ralph at Jack Trice. Thanks Auntie Sarah for finding out about this FREE and fun event. It was a ton of fun and the kiddos had a blast.

Kyla Talking On The Phone

Kyla loves to play to with my phone. No it isn't a smart phone. It is your standard flip phone.As in she will try and throw a fit/whine so I will let her play with my phone.

Typically I don't let her play with my phone and try to satisfy her with one of Jared's old phones that have been converted into play phones for the kiddos. Most of the time this doesn't work...the kid is just too stinkin' smart.

Well, one particular day she somehow got a hold of my phone and broke it in half. Needless to say I had to get a new phone.

So long story short, I ended up with one of the kiddos play phones as my new phone.

If Jared Willis is anything he is resourceful!!!!

Here are a few pictures of Kyla playing with my new phone while it was still a play phone. If you think it's confusing to you, try explaining to you 1yr. old that this is no longer a phone she can play with.

I Turned 30

Yep I turned 30.

No big deal.

Other than I had to renew my license.

Which if you know anything about renewing your drivers license you know that you have to pass a very simple eye exam.

Well, if you know anything about my eyesight you know that this could be a problem for me.

Let me fill you in. I don't see far away too well and I don't have any corrective vision.

Red flag for renewing your license, right.

So I went to our friend Todd who is an eye doctor. He told me what I expected.....I needed glasses.

Needless to say I got the glasses and got my drivers license renewed. All in all a pretty uneventful 30th birthday.


Oh but in other more important news related to me turning 30.....

Jared surprised me with a girls night on him at Aunt Maude's. He totally pulled off a great surprise with the help of the best friends ever.

Jared you out did yourself and made me feel very loved.

Ladies you know that you definitely surprised me and made the night super special. I bet the restroom at Aunt Maude's will always be a fun memory for us all!

Iowa State Women's Basketball

We had the opportunity to take all three kiddos to an ISU women's basketball game. A few highlights of the game....

• The kiddos dancing to rap music before the game started.
• Getting a picture with Cy.
• Watching the cheerleaders (Makenna loved this).
• Cy coming up behind Makenna and surprising her.
• Makenna getting her face on the jumbo-tron because of her flexing ability

Family Pictures

This past Sunday my friend Megan took some family pictures for us. I thought that she did an amazing job.

This year we decided to get a real Christmas tree again. I have mentioned before that I really enjoy all things about a real Christmas tree. So needless to say I was very happy that this year we decieded to once again get a real tree.

Megan's Baby Shower

This past Saturday I got the privilege to host one of my best friend Megan's baby shower. I am soooooo excited to meet Baby Fred and give him tons of cuddles.
