Colin - 2 Week Stats

Colin had his two week appointment yesterday. Here are is stats...
  • Height - 21 inches
  • Weight - 8 pounds 15 ounces
Basically all that means is he is gaining weight the way he should. Which makes this mama very happy!

And just for fun click here to see the post from back when Makenna had her 2 week appointment.

Is your mom home?

Allison was home the other day when a sales lady came by trying to sell a paint job on the house. When Allison answered the door, the lady asks, "Can I talk to your mom?"

Clearly embarrassed by the faux pas, she kept the sales pitch to a minimum, cut her losses and moved onto the next house.

The best part was she was probably younger than Allison.

Summertime Weather = Summertime Fun

Makenna has definitely enjoyed the warmer weather. For her temps in the 80's equals water and more water.

Here is a video from this past weekend. She running and attempting to jump through the water squirting out the hose. As you can see she is completely soaked, but having a blast!

Here are a couple pictures from Monday. She got to go swimming for the first time this year. It took her a bit to warm up to the idea but once she did she became quite the little fish.

More Colin

I guess I never posted Colin's stats, so here they are:

7 pounds 14 ounces (Makenna was 6 - 6)
20 inches long
head 13 3/4

He's been a great sleeper so far. He's been waking up only to eat and then goes back to sleep. Hopefully this continues for awhile. He also was circumsized this morning.

It looks like we will be going home this Saturday sometime. Thanks so much for all the texts, calls and messages!

Some pictures of Colin!!

Our day began this morning at 10:00 at the hospital. Allison and I both changed into our surgery gowns. (yes, I was wearing a gown.)

(who thought I looked like a XXL?)

Luckily I wasn't mistaken for a real doctor.

After a spinal block and some cutting, he was officially born at 12:11. He was wisked away for some cleaning and shots and a general overall check-up.

Allison fed him and we were able to hold him.

Some visitor pictures.

Makenna loved him!!

IT'S A BOY!

Today's the day!!

Just the Three of Us - One Last Weekend

This past Saturday we took a trip down to Des Moines to celebrate our last weekend as a family of three. We ate lunch at Spaghetti Works then headed to my parents for the afternoon and evening. We also enjoyed Tasty Tacos for supper and on our way we made a quick stop at Southridge Mall so Makenna could ride on the carousel. She LOVED it! It turned out to be a great day of relaxing and enjoying family.

Here is a picture of Makenna on her carousel ride.

18 Month Stats

As always I am a little behind at updating about Makenna. She had her 18 month doctor's appointment last Monday. Here are her stats...
  • Weight - 21 pounds 2 ounces
  • Height - 32 inches
Basically, she is still petite for her age. Which is fine by me....it makes it way easier to carrier her with my pregnant belly.

In other Makenna news she has been learning so much lately that it is hard to keep up. These are just some of the major accomplishments I can remember....
  • She can say several words now. She has gradually added them to her vocabulary over the past couple months. Some of my favorites to hear her say are: cheese, choo-choo, apple, bug, bike, daddy, Buddy and home.
  • She continues to be a huge helper around the house. Her favorite chores to help with are unloading the dishwasher, doing the laundry, and helping daddy do anything and everything.
  • She insists on walking up and down the stairs upright. No more of the belly scoot.
  • As mentioned in a previous post she sleeps in her big girl bed now.
  • She reads out loud to herself.
  • She tries to say the ABC's but she only makes it to "B" and just keeps repeating "B" for awhile. It is really cute. I need to get a video.
  • She continues to love music. She has several songs that we sing together that she will do actions to. I need to get a video of this as well.
  • She will tells us we are home when we pull in the driveway. She also recognizes when we are getting close to home because she starts announcing home, home, home when we turn onto McKinley Drive. (We live on court)
  • She recognizes several of her body parts now too. She will point to her toes, ears, eyes, belly, fingers, mouth, head, hair, and nose.
That is all I can think of for now. I know that I am forgetting some stuff but for now that is all this very pregnant brain can think of.

Makenna's Kitchen

My dad recently made this wonderful play kitchen for Makenna.

She sure loves to play with it!
