Makenna's weekend

Makenna had a busy weekend. She doesn't know it though. It was business as usual as far as she was concerned.

We moved Saturday, so she had to adjust to a new place. Now she gets to go play outside with mom.

She also got dedicated at church Sunday morning as well. It was her first time in church and loved the loud music and all the people. She also had a larger than life photo of her displayed at church and got a lot of "Awwww's."

She also is starting to crawl.

Moving Time

We began loading up at 9:00 a.m. Everything was out of the house and we were on our way by 10. We were basically done by 11. It was awesome that so many people stopped by to help out. Thanks again everybody!

Here are some pics from the day.

One Last Walk Around The Pond

This is a picture of what Makenna and I saw as we took one last stroll around the pond behind our house before we move.

We are definitely gonna miss the feeling of being on the edge of town.

Our New House

As promised, here are a few pictures of the outside of our new house.

View from the street.

East side of the house.

Our two apple trees.

The raspberry bushes that are all along the back fence.

It is hard to tell from the pictures how big our backyard is. But it is rather large. The lot size is bigger than our current lot.

We get to move on Saturday. So if you are free, we would love your help. I will put more pictures up of the inside once we move in.

How-To Tuesday

How to not accumulate a whole bunch of stuff.

Since I have been packing up all of our stuff this week, I have been thinking about how much junk we have and how much stuff we actually use. Overall, I would say that Jared and I tend to have fewer items in our home than most.

Here is how I eliminate all that stuff in a house:
  1. When packing your things to move or doing spring cleaning, ask yourself "Have I used this in the past 6 months? Did I even remember I had this? Is this worth saving for sentimental reasons? If you answer NO to these questions either toss the item, donate it, or sell it at a garage sale.
  2. Move every year!
It may sound too simple but really it makes moving so much easier when you don't have tons of stuff to pack up and move.

For those interested in how long it has taken me to pack. I have worked two days on the house and I only anticipate it taking one more day. And that is just picking away at it when Makenna is napping. The garage.....that is a completely separate undertaking.

Yard Work

I love being outside. I can't get enough of it. I love the fact that I will have a yard to work on. This weekend my parents came up to help out with some yard work and babysit Makenna. Here are a few pictures of our new yard.

This is the tree my dad trimmed for us. See the box that is leaning against the tree. That is what he used as a ladder for the branches he could not reach. Real safe. But it worked.

These are a bunch of day lilies and irises that we transplanted to fill in an empty flower bed.

This is our garden.

There are a lot more things I love about the backyard. I will post more pictures and details about the house and yard later this week.

Jacob David Ferrera

My sister and brother-in-law had their baby Saturday.

Welcome to the family little Jacob. I cannot wait to meet you!

Makenna on the Farm

Last Friday we spent the afternoon at Grandpa Jim and Grandma Janelle's farm. It was a great day to be outside. Jared and I got to get our hands dirty planting a bunch of veggies in the garden.

Makenna loves to be outside and see all the interesting things at the farm.
